This site describes the work of Wladyslaw Szlengel (1912-1943) written before World War II. A unique aspect is the database of songs recorded in Poland in the years 1930-1939. They are an extension of his songs contained on two CDs compiled and edited by Katarzyna Zimek and published by Gazeta Wyborcza in May 2015. This database contains a list of his tangos, pasodobles, waltzes, foxtrots and slowfoxes. You can listen to some of these songs in their pre-war interpretation. We have gathered here also pre-war poems and essays of Szlengel. Some of them appeared in anthologies of his poetry but we have succeeded in finding several which were not widely known previously.
Songs. They were recorded on gramophone records Syrena-Electro and Odeon.
Poems and essays They were published in "Nasz Przegląd", "Szpilki", "Robotnik", "Kino"
This site serves as an auxiliary source to an article on the Polish Wikipedia about Wladyslaw Szlengel which we wrote in May-June 2015.
